Lay track across a hex map and make sure your rail companies end up worth the most.
Who it's for
You like light stock and network games and want a train theme without a three-hour rulebook. Works well when everyone enjoys a bit of scheming.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want to build your own big railway empire in peace. Here you keep shaping what everyone else owns, so it can feel chaotic.
Vibe's take
Short, snappy and a little sneaky. Every locomotive you place helps you and someone else at the same time, so you keep calculating who really profits.
SNCF: France & Germany is a quick train game where the winner is not the best builder but the best investor. Six colours of wooden locomotives stand for six rail companies. Everyone holds a hand of locomotives and uses them to lay track on a hex map, while also owning and trading shares of the companies and nudging their values up or down. You want your shares to be worth the most when the dust settles, so you build lines that suit your portfolio and quietly wreck the ones that suit someone else's. It first appeared as Paris Connection and plays in about half an hour, with a sharp edge under the friendly trains.
