Connect Four where the board spins: place a marble, twist a quadrant, get five in a row.
Who it's for
You want a two-player head-to-head with a twist you can see across the room. Great for anyone who likes Connect Four or Gomoku but wants more thinking.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want something for more than two players, or you hate games where one missed rotation ends everything.
Vibe's take
Quick, sharp and slightly mean. The rotation makes the board feel alive, so you are constantly checking both your own threats and what the twist might hand your opponent. Games are over in minutes but feel like a proper brain duel.
Pentago is Connect Four's trickier cousin. The board is a 6Γ6 grid split into four 3Γ3 quadrants, and every turn has two beats: place a marble, then twist one quadrant by 90 degrees. That twist is the whole game. It can finish your five in a row, wreck your opponent's, or quietly scramble both. You start out thinking about lines and soon you are thinking about rotations, which is a much more annoying kind of thinking. There are no dice and no hidden cards, so every loss is entirely your own fault. Expect at least one 'wait, you can do that?' the first time someone spins a quadrant and wins on the spot. A two-player duel in a box that fits on a coffee table.
