Send your archaeologists to dig up Egypt for rival benefactors over four rounds on a card-built board.
Who it's for
You like Egyptian themes and compact, mid-weight strategy with no luck from dice. Best with four players.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want a big, flashy adventure game or lots of direct confrontation. This is quieter and more about positioning.
Vibe's take
Calm but tense, a tidy puzzle of where to place limited diggers. There is quiet competition rather than shouting, and the modular map keeps each game a little different.
Mykerinos puts you in 1899 as a team of archaeologists digging up Egypt for wealthy benefactors, each with their own color: Sir Brown, Lady Violet, Miss Blackmore, Lord Lemon and Colonel Tangerine. The game runs for four rounds on a board made of cards, some squares blocked by pyramids. You use your pool of archaeologists to start and expand excavations, and the finds you uncover are meant to impress at the museum's grand exhibition at the end. It is a modest, tidy area-majority game with a modular board, so the setup changes each time. Think of it as a mid-weight puzzle about where to spend your limited diggers, best around four players.
