Build your domino train, sabotage others, and empty your hand first.
Who it's for
You like classic domino games and want a social, chatty game for a bigger group with a little strategy about how you build your line.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want a quick or highly strategic game. Long rounds can drag, and luck of the draw plays a big part.
Vibe's take
Chatty and relaxed with a little mean streak. You plan your own line while peeking at the open trains of your friends.
Mexican Train is a dominoes game where everyone builds their own railway line from a central station. You play tiles that match the end of your train, and a shared 'Mexican Train' lets anyone drop a domino onto it. If you cannot play, you draw and your train is opened to the others until you manage to play again. Rounds run from the highest double down, and pips left in your hand count against you, so you want to empty out first. It is a classic, loud, social game, usually played with a double-twelve set, and you can stretch it from a quick twenty-minute game to a long afternoon. The little train whistle, if your set has one, gets more use than it should.
