Lay tracks to build long, looping railway routes and steer rivals onto short ones.
Who it's for
You like Tsuro or Tantrix and want a tile game with a bit more thinking and a nasty edge. Good for a relaxed table where nobody gets too competitive.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want lots of interaction beyond tile placement or a thematic story. It is an abstract routing puzzle with a train skin.
Vibe's take
Calm and puzzly with a mean streak: each tile is a small spatial decision with a wink at your neighbours. Loops that score the same tile again feel delightfully clever.
Metro is a tile-laying game about building subway lines that are as long and twisty as possible. You place a square tile with curved tracks each turn, and whenever your tile links a train waiting at the edge of the board to a station, that train departs and you score one point for every tile the route has crossed. Loops count the same tile more than once, and stations in the middle of the board pay double. The fun comes from steering routes so your own trains run long while quietly cutting off everyone else, a detail that rewards a little spatial scheming. Similar to Tsuro, but with a scoring puzzle.
