A squire-training race where you secretly pick actions to win jousts, quests and royal favor.
Who it's for
You want a light medieval game with secret picks and a bit of reading your opponents. Great for a mixed group with younger and older players.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want a deep strategy game. It is a quick, light-medium contest and luck from the card draft can matter.
Vibe's take
Brisk and a bit sneaky. Everyone picks at the same time, so you try to predict where the others are heading and slip into an empty category. Short, light on rules and good for a mixed group.
Medieval Academy turns you into a squire in training, fighting for the king's attention across six turns. You compete in jousts, tournaments and quests, polish your education, and show charity and gallantry, all to collect Chivalry Points. Everyone chooses their actions in secret at the same time, so reading your rivals matters as much as planning, and the modular board changes the setup each game. It plays in about half an hour and is a bit more than a kids' game: friendly enough for newer players, with tension in outguessing the table. Only one squire gets knighted by King Arthur.
