Fill your expedition journal with discoveries by placing dice as workers in the Lewis & Clark era.
Who it's for
You like medium-weight Euros with a historical theme and dice that give choices, not just luck. Best at three players.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want fast, light play or a theme full of action. It is a measured planning game, and the rulebook is a bit heavy.
Vibe's take
Thoughtful but smooth. You roll dice, weigh where each one is best used, and watch your journal fill with discoveries.
Discoveries: The Journals of Lewis & Clark puts you on the 1803 to 1806 expedition across North America. You play one of four expedition members, Lewis, Clark, Gass, or Ordway, and your job is to fill your journal with as much knowledge as you can. You roll dice and place them as workers on action tiles, collect Tribe and Discoveries cards, fulfill contracts, and build sets, then write it all down for points. Dice give you choices without being pure luck, since you decide where each one goes. It feels like a medium-weight Euro with a historical theme, and the mix of cards, dice, and tiles keeps each turn interesting.
