Real Catan, shrunk to pirate-sized rules that a six-year-old can actually win on their own merit.
Who it's for
Families with young children who want a genuine first strategy game that eases naturally into full Catan later.
Not for you ifβ¦
Your kids already outgrew simple resource games, since this stays intentionally light and short for younger players.
Vibe's take
simple, friendly, quick, gently strategic, family-paced
Catan Junior takes everything that makes Catan click and wraps it in a pirate map sized for six-year-olds. You build ships and pirate lairs around a single island instead of settlements across a whole board, trade goods with your crew when the dice do not cooperate, and watch out for the Ghost Captain haunting one lucky hex. It plays in half the time of grown-up Catan, with fewer resources and simpler rules, but the core rhythm, roll, collect, trade, build, is completely intact. A genuinely good on-ramp for future Catan players, not just a dumbed-down box with the name slapped on.
