Fluxx with Cthulhu, where the rules and the goal keep changing mid-game.
Who it's for
You like Fluxx or want a gloriously silly game with a Lovecraft grin. Works at four or five, with players who laugh at chaos.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want planning or control. Winning is mostly luck and timing, and the game can turn around in one card.
Vibe's take
Fast, absurd and unpredictable. Nobody can plan more than a turn ahead, and a lucky card can steal the win.
Cthulhu Fluxx is Fluxx dressed in tentacles. Like in every game of the family, the rules are whatever the cards on the table say right now: how many cards you draw or play, how many you may hold, even what wins. You start by playing one card and quickly find the goal changing under your feet. The Cthulhu twist is the theme, with Miskatonic University, a stolen Necronomicon, cultists, sanitarium and penguin-riddled tombs under the ice. Silly, chaotic and delightfully unfair.
