Build with odd 3D pieces, grow your color, and squeeze rivals out of the space.
Who it's for
You like abstract placement puzzles and enjoy thinking spatially. A good pick if you have played Blokus and want something with height.
Not for you ifβ¦
You struggle to picture shapes in 3D or want lots of social chatter. It is a concentrated, mostly silent game.
Vibe's take
Calm, puzzly and quietly competitive. You turn pieces around, spot a gap, and realize too late that you have also cut yourself off.
Blokus 3D is based on Rumis, in which players build with chunky three-dimensional pieces instead of flat tiles. All of your pieces are different shapes, and each new piece must touch one of your own already placed pieces, so your color slowly grows into a structure of its own. The challenge is spatial: you rotate odd shapes in your head and look for the spot where they fit without helping a rival. Different building scenarios use cubic, wedge-shaped or pyramidal volumes as the limit of what you can build, which changes the puzzle each time. It is calm and clever, a bit like Blokus, but with height, and it rewards seeing three dimensions at once.
