Declare your goods, look the Sheriff in the eye, and hope your poker face holds. Each round, one player is the Sheriff who inspects merchants' bags at the city gate. Declare what is inside (truthfully or not), then the Sheriff decides whether to open your bag. Caught lying? Pay a fine. Falsely inspected? The Sheriff pays you. Legal goods score well, but smuggled contraband scores huge. The real game is the negotiation: bribe the Sheriff, bluff with confidence, or throw your friends under the cart for profit.
