About this game

Up Front throws out the hex grid entirely and simulates WWII infantry combat with nothing but cards. Each soldier is a card with morale and firepower baked in, and terrain, range, and line of sight all live in your hand rather than on a board, which sounds abstract until you realize how tense a single ambush card can feel. Fire discipline, cover, and nerve matter more than dice luck, and the fog of war is real: you often will not know what the enemy has until they play it. A cult classic wargame that trades a rulebook of charts for cards that somehow feel more realistic, not less.
