Place a tile, follow your path, and try to stay on the board longer than the others.
Who it's for
You want a game that looks good on the table and can host up to eight people. Great for groups that include players who do not usually play board games.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want depth or heavy planning. It has little control, and being eliminated early can leave you watching.
Vibe's take
Calm, pretty and surprisingly tense. The board becomes a glowing web of lines, and every tile you place sends someone's token somewhere new.
Tsuro is a beautifully simple game where the only thing you do is place a tile in front of your own token and follow the path. Tiles carry curving lines, a 6x6 grid is the board, and each of your tokens moves along whichever line your latest tile continues. You want to stay on the board longer than anybody else, but as the grid fills up it gets harder, because your path ends where someone else's tile leads it. Their tile can also extend your line in a direction you would rather not go. Rounds are brief, up to eight can play, and the mild Asian spiritual theme is just a coat of paint for what is really a lovely little abstract. It plays in about fifteen minutes and is kind to newcomers.
