Mine copper and tin in Cornwall, sell high, then reinvest early for the best return.
Who it's for
You like economic games where timing the market matters, with a historical setting, three or four players, and about an hour and a half.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want a light game or a lot of direct interaction. The economics reward patient optimizing, and dice can disrupt tidy plans.
Vibe's take
Calculating and tense. The market rises and falls, and you are always deciding whether to cash in now or wait for a better price.
Tinners' Trail drops you into nineteenth-century Cornwall, where copper and tin lie under the ground and the right moment to sell is everything. You mine the metals and sell when prices are high, and you build ports, adits and trains to make the digging cheaper. Once you have some money, you reinvest it in industries beyond Cornwall for victory points β and the earlier you invest, the better the return. Dice, auctions and a time track that decides turn order keep the economy tense. It is a medium-heavy, three- to four-player economic game, about 90 minutes.
