A Wild West mining game of supply tracks, building and area control on a modular hex map.
Who it's for
You enjoy mid-weight economic games with area control and like planning your engine. Good for three players who want a puzzle with some elbows.
Not for you ifβ¦
You prefer light, quick games or pure conflict. It needs some planning effort and the rules take a game to settle.
Vibe's take
Planful and puzzly with a bit of rivalry. You think several turns ahead about what to refine and where to build, and then watch a rival take the hex you needed. Satisfying engine feeling as your tracks line up.
Gold West puts you in charge of a frontier mining empire. You collect copper, silver, gold, timber and stone, and you use the metals to buy victory points in different ways while timber and stone fuel your building. The tricky part is timing: you manage supply tracks and decide when to refine the right resource at the right moment. Played on a modular hex map, with area control against your rivals as you spread across the territory. Contracts and end-game bonuses reward a plan rather than a lucky turn. If you like a mid-weight economic game with a Wild West coat of paint, this fits.
