Place inventions in the right order in time, and learn the dates when the cards flip.
Who it's for
You like trivia-flavoured games where guesswork and general knowledge both help. Great with a mixed group of ages who enjoy debating.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want a game that rewards planning. Luck and knowledge decide who wins, and a history buff can dominate the table.
Vibe's take
Fast guessing with a bit of showing off. The board grows, getting harder to place into, and the best moments are the loud arguments about whether something was invented before or after something else.
Timeline: Inventions is a card game about guessing which came first. Each card shows an invention on both sides, with the year printed on only one. On your turn you place a card from your hand into the row on the table where you think it belongs in time, then flip it to check the date. Right, and the card stays. Wrong, and the card is thrown away and you draw another. The first player to empty their hand wins. It is fast, you learn a surprising amount about the history of everyday things, and the debates about whether the telephone or the lightbulb came first are half the fun. It works for kids and adults alike.
