Ticket to Ride in taxis on a Manhattan map, finished in about fifteen minutes.
Who it's for
You enjoy Ticket to Ride and want a version that fits into a coffee break. Also a gentle introduction to the series for kids from eight.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want a long, sprawling route-building game. The short length means fewer big plans, and the map is small.
Vibe's take
Brisk and tight: every card you draw matters because the game ends before you know it. It keeps the familiar tension of claiming routes before someone cuts you off.
Ticket to Ride: New York shrinks the familiar train-route formula down to a map of Manhattan, with a few stops in Brooklyn. Instead of trains you have taxis: each player starts with fifteen of them, two transportation cards and one or two destination tickets. On your turn you draw two cards, claim a route by discarding matching cards, or draw destination tickets and keep at least one. Taxis in the display count as wild cards. The game ends when someone is down to two taxis or fewer, so it moves along fast, usually within fifteen minutes. If you know Ticket to Ride, this is the express version.
