You want a long, sprawling city builder, because Manhattan is tight, fast and finishes in under an hour.
Vibe's take
tactical, spatial, quick, competitive, striking
Manhattan turns city blocks into a vertical tug-of-war, Spiel des Jahres trophy included. Your building cards dictate exactly how many floors you can stack and where, so every placement is a negotiation between what you want to build and what the cards let you do. Land the right number of floors on a rival's tower and you can literally take it over, control simply goes to whoever tops the stack. After six pieces per player, points come from height, from owning the tallest building in a district, and from sheer skyscraper count. It plays fast, looks striking with its snap-together plastic towers, and rewards spatial thinking more than luck.
