About this game

The Palaces of Carrara puts you in the marble trade of Renaissance Italy, where the twist is deliciously mean: driving the price down to afford your own purchase also hands your rivals a discount. Every tile you place nudges the market, and figuring out when to grab cheap stone versus investing in the buildings it becomes is the whole puzzle. A built-in beginner mode eases new players into the mechanisms before the full advanced game opens up, courtesy of co-designer Wolfgang Kramer's own recommendation. It rewards reading the market as much as building efficiently, a proper economic euro with real teeth.
