Choose a fantasy hero, roam a dangerous land and fight your way to the Crown of Command.
Who it's for
You love fantasy adventure and want a long, silly session where the story matters more than the winning. Great for a rainy afternoon with three or four friends.
Not for you ifβ¦
You dislike roll-and-move or short games. Luck drives much of it, and it can take hours.
Vibe's take
A long, luck-driven adventure where the story is what you remember: the monster you barely beat, the treasure that saved you, the turn your hero turned into a toad. Expect swings, setbacks and laughter.
Talisman is a fantasy adventure where you pick a hero, roll a die, and wander around a board filled with monsters, treasure, strange places and surprise events. The goal is to become strong enough to reach the center and claim the Crown of Command. Each character comes with their own skills, from Barbarian and Wizard to Monk, and the path is paved with encounters that can make you stronger or leave you weaker. It is a long, luck-heavy ride from the early eighties by Games Workshop, one best enjoyed as a shared story rather than a tight contest. Expect laughs, setbacks, and the odd heroic comeback.
