Cross off numbers, complete lines, and spend lightning bolts to twist your luck.
Who it's for
Roll-and-write fans who like crossing off boxes and chasing bonuses. Works nicely for groups of four to six.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want much interaction or tactics beyond which grid to fill. It is a quiet, parallel scoring game.
Vibe's take
A quick, simultaneous number puzzle where everyone scribbles at once. There is a nice little tension each time you decide which grid gets the number, and lightning bolts feel like a small rescue.
Super Mega Lucky Box is a roll-and-write style number game played with cards instead of dice. You start by choosing three of five cards, each showing a 3x3 grid of the numbers one to nine. Then nine cards are revealed one at a time, and every number called lets you cross off a matching number on one of your grids. Complete a row or column and you collect its bonus: lightning bolts that let you shift a number up or down, or moons that score big at game's end for whoever has the most. It runs four rounds in about twenty minutes, plays one to six, and everyone fills their sheet at once.
