Build a fairy tale together, one wild card at a time, and vote on the best contributions.
Who it's for
You like improvising with a group and want a game that produces stories instead of scores. Good for five players.
Not for you ifβ¦
You dislike talking in front of people or want a competitive challenge. Quiet tables may find it flat.
Vibe's take
Chatty and silly. The game works best when you lean into the nonsense, and every table ends up with a different, slightly absurd story.
'Once upon a time' is where every good story starts, and this card game makes you invent one together. Three to eight players take turns adding characters, places, objects and events to a shared fairy tale, so the plot lurches in directions nobody planned. Everyone chooses cards at the same time and the table votes, which gives the telling a playful competitive edge. Think wicked stepmothers meeting talking frogs with a map to a haunted cottage. There is no hidden skill beyond a bit of imagination and the courage to say something silly out loud. Good with five, about half an hour.
