Draft, play in secret, and watch your neighbors flip your best cards face-down.
Who it's for
You like drafting games but want more interaction than just picking cards. Good for four players who enjoy reading each other.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want to build a calm engine without being disrupted. Your best cards can be flipped away, and that is the whole point.
Vibe's take
Quick, tricky and a bit cutthroat. The reveals build tension, and a single card can swing a whole round.
Fairy Tale is a drafting game where you build a twelve-card tableau of fantasy cards and then watch your opponents flip half of it face-down. Each of the four rounds, you get five cards, pick one, pass the rest, and keep going. Then everybody plays three cards at the same time and discards two. Card abilities turn other cards face-up or face-down, so the order of reveals matters and a lovely combo can be wiped out by a rival's play. Only the face-up cards score at the end. It is short, a bit mean, and rewards guessing what your neighbors are about to do. Think of it as a drafting game with a poker face attached, finished before the tea has gone cold.
