Four heroes, nine locations and a dangerous question: who gets to rest tonight?
Who it's for
You like co-op dungeon-style challenges and want a smaller, meaty game, ideally solo or in a small group. Good for players who enjoy tough resource choices.
Not for you ifβ¦
You prefer a light, relaxed game or a big miniature campaign. Also not ideal if you dislike dice-driven combat.
Vibe's take
Tense, clever and a little bleak, with that campfire feeling of managing a tired band of heroes. Each round brings a hard decision about who fights and who recovers.
Set a Watch is a cooperative card-and-dice adventure for one to four players, though it shines solo. The kingdom is in danger because enemies want to revive the Unhallowed that your heroes just defeated, and you have to clear nine locations to stop them. Four adventurers, each with their own skills, band together once more. Every round you visit a new location, pick one adventurer to rest and make camp, and send the others out to fight. Dice decide the battles, but smart choices about who rests and who fights decide the campaign. It is a lean, tense game that fits a short evening or a quiet solo afternoon.
