Program five actions in secret, then watch everyone's bridge plans collide on the way across the river.
Who it's for
You want a lively race where the fun is in the planned chaos, ideally with four to six players who can laugh at a messy result.
Not for you ifβ¦
You like to plan carefully and have it work. Simultaneous programming means a good plan gets wrecked by someone else's card.
Vibe's take
Fast, chaotic and full of groans as your carefully timed plan gets undone by a neighbour's card. It is more about laughing than winning.
River Dragons, known earlier as Dragon Delta, is a chaotic race across a river made of planks that you build as you go. Everyone secretly picks five of nine action cards at the same time and lays them face down in a row. Then the cards play out one by one: lay foundations, set planks, move your pawn, cancel what a neighbour just did, or pull planks away. Nothing goes to plan, because everyone is rewriting the same bridge. It is a loud, gleeful mess that makes you laugh at how your clever line collapsed. The newer edition includes a double-sided board.
