Blow a floating boat down a river of real water and steal the king's jewels.
Who it's for
Groups that want a physical gimmick on the table and do not mind a bit of spillage. The blowing mechanism levels the field between kids and adults.
Not for you ifβ¦
Water near the dining table is a hard no for you, or setup and drying afterwards feels like too much. A 2008 Kinderspiel des Jahres nominee, out of print and hard to source.
Vibe's take
Damp, silly and surprisingly tense, with everyone hunched over the board watching a boat drift while someone runs out of air.
The riverbed on the board is filled with about a litre of real water before you start. The king's boat floats on it loaded with jewels, and the players are river dragons who move it by blowing through a straw. Dice rolls can cut a run short, so you need breath control and luck in equal measure.
