Keep a doomed gnome submarine afloat while everything catches fire, floods or pulls toward the Kraken.
Who it's for
You enjoy cooperative games with dark humor, enough players to split chores, and the thrill of barely surviving. Best with four.
Not for you ifβ¦
You dislike losing against the game itself or prefer calm, orderly play. The difficulty is brutal, and a single bad turn can snowball.
Vibe's take
Frantic, funny and a bit hopeless in the best way. You trade quick fixes for bigger trouble, and the tone stays lighthearted even as the sub falls apart.
Red November puts you in a gnomish attack submarine where absolutely everything is going wrong. The sub is sinking and pressure is rising, the reactor is overheating, missile launchers are pre-igniting, fires and leaks are everywhere, a Kraken lurks outside, and the oxygen and vodka are running low. Cooperating means splitting up the emergencies, sometimes accepting a sacrifice for the crew, and watching three disaster tracks creep toward the end. If any of Asphyxiation, Heat or Pressure maxes out, the sub is lost. It is a cooperative game for one to eight players, about two hours, with a darkly funny tone.
