Lead a new empire in each of seven epochs and score for the land your pieces hold.
Who it's for
You love big, sweeping history games with lots of dice and a long evening, ideally with six players around the table.
Not for you ifβ¦
You dislike dice or long games, or want tight balance. Some empires are simply stronger and the session is a commitment.
Vibe's take
Sweeping, swingy and funny in a sad-empire way. Rises and falls come quickly, and your earlier empires keep influencing the board.
Seven epochs, from the Sumerians in 3000 BC to Germany just before the First World War, and each epoch you take over a brand-new empire. Nothing lasts, and the game knows it: what counts is how much land you grab and how long your colored pieces stay on the map. At the end of each epoch you score for every unit of your color still standing, including leftovers from earlier empires. Before your turn you can play up to two event cards, and dice settle the fighting. Some empires are stronger than others (hello, Romans), but the game has clever ways of evening things out. A huge sweep of history in one very long evening.
