Rearrange the line of nobles, then behead the best one before your rivals do.
Who it's for
You enjoy light take-that card games with a macabre sense of humor and a short playing time.
Not for you ifβ¦
You dislike the beheading theme or take-that that targets you. The jokes get mean and the plays hurt.
Vibe's take
Snappy, mean and very funny, with plenty of gotcha moments. Each turn is small, but the table reacts to every swap.
The French Revolution as a very dark joke. You are an executioner trying to impress the crowd, and every day a line of nobles waits in front of the blade. You take turns lopping off whoever is at the front, but first you can play action cards that rearrange the line: pushing your favorite aristocrats up front, shoving someone else's pick to the back, or switching things around right before the cut. Each noble is worth points, and the line shuffles with every turn, so timing is everything. After three days of chopping, the highest total wins. It's quick, cartoonishly mean and very easy to teach, with plenty of laughter at everyone's expense.
