About this game
Gobblers takes tic-tac-toe and adds a wonderfully sneaky twist, your pieces come in three sizes, and a bigger piece can swallow a smaller one right off the board, including your opponent's. Slide a large piece over a small one and it hides underneath, still there, still counting toward a row if you remember to check, which means part of the game is simply keeping track of what is buried where. Move a big piece away later and whatever was hiding underneath pops right back into play, sometimes handing your opponent an instant win they did not see coming. It plays in about five minutes, fits neatly in a pocket, and turns a game every kid already knows into a genuine memory puzzle. A perfect first real strategy game before jumping into anything heavier.
