Who it's for

Families and groups who want a loud, tactile, slapstick adventure. Great for four players, with kids who enjoy rolling marbles at their parents.

Not for you if…

You want serious strategy or a quiet game. Also not for anyone who hates getting knocked off by luck.

Vibe's take

Boisterous and physical, with marbles clattering down the mountain and everyone shrieking when one rolls toward their pawn. Strategy takes a back seat to timing and dumb luck.

About this game

Fireball Island: The Curse of Vul-Kar brings back the 1986 classic of racing up a jungle mountain while a volcano god's fireballs roll down to knock you off. The island is full of traps, tigers, bees and snakes, and you collect treasure along the way, ideally without getting flattened by a marble. The board is a big 3D mountain, and players can send fireballs rolling to ruin each other's day. It is silly, loud and tactile, with lots of squealing as marbles bounce around. It works best with four and is fine for kids from seven. Expect big laughs, not deep strategy.
