Load your longship with warriors or wares, then sail off to raid, trade or settle.
Who it's for
You like sailing a plan across a map and enjoy a choice between peaceful and violent routes. Good if your group is tired of pure conquest games.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want deep, brain-melting strategy or a fast game. Ninety minutes of loading and sailing is an investment, and the dice can sink a good plan.
Vibe's take
A planning-heavy sea adventure: the real decisions happen at the dock, and the voyage shows whether you guessed right. Fights are dicey, trade is steady, and both paths feel viable.
Three Viking sagas, one longship, and a choice you make before you even leave port: do you pack warriors or trade goods? Fire & Axe, first released as Viking Fury, has you outfit a boat with crew and cargo, push out into open water, and decide whether to raid, trade or settle the lands you reach. The peaceful route can win, and so can the bloody one, but the sea does not forgive a careless captain. Movement costs action points, dice settle the fights, and what you loaded at the dock quietly shapes the whole voyage. It is a mid-weight pick-up-and-deliver adventure for three to five players, with an axe in one hand and a ledger in the other.
