Lock yourself into an old castle and puzzle your way back out.
Who it's for
You like escape rooms and want a medieval-castle puzzle at home with a small team that has done a few EXIT games before.
Not for you if…
You want to replay the game or play with a big group. The materials are used up, and tough riddles can frustrate beginners.
Vibe's take
Intense and absorbed: heads together over the same cards, someone shouts Eureka, someone else is still stuck on the last puzzle. The tougher riddles make the victory feel earned.
EXIT: The Forbidden Castle sends a group of hikers into an old castle, where the squeaky doors slam shut behind them. A puzzle game modelled after escape rooms, it hands you a decoder disk, riddle cards, and a booklet, and expects you to figure out each solution and enter it into the decoder. The riddles are tricky: the difficulty sits at the harder end of the series, so teams with some experience will feel challenged. As with the rest of the EXIT series, pieces are used up as you go, so it is a one-time experience, best shared with one to four friends.
