Build a city whose buildings are the faces of your dice, and race to become Rolldovia's new capital.
Who it's for
You like dice-driven engine-building and want to see your city grow. A solid choice for two or three players, or a solo evening.
Not for you ifβ¦
You dislike luck from the dice or want deep long-term planning. Rolls can ruin a turn, even if you mitigate them.
Vibe's take
Chewy but breezy. Rolling feels like opening a present, and then you squeeze the best out of it. Each new building changes what your dice do, so the engine feels very satisfying.
Dice City is set in the turbulent Kingdom of Rolldovia, where the Queen has ordered a new capital after barbarians sacked the old one. You lead a noble family and fight to make your provincial city the winner. The twist is that your city is your dice: the locations you build become the faces of your dice, so improving your town literally changes what you roll. You can raise armies, construct wonders or open trade routes, and you get to choose which path suits you. The secret is to manage your resources carefully and keep the dice working for you. It plays alone or with up to four, and has a touch of take-that.
