A trick-taking game where the suits you throw away earn you acrylic diamond crystals.
Who it's for
You enjoy trick-taking and want a version with extra choices every time you discard. Fits three to five players who like card games with something to collect.
Not for you ifβ¦
You never warmed to trick-taking games, since the base structure is the same. The suit actions add rules to remember.
Vibe's take
Familiar trick-taking with a greedy streak. Every off-suit card is a small opportunity, so you start planning discards almost as carefully as winning tricks. Crystals piling up in front of you feels satisfying.
Diamonds is a trick-taking card game where you win real acrylic crystals instead of just points on paper. The twist on a familiar formula: when you cannot follow suit, the suit you play instead gives you a special action, and the trick winner and the end of each round also trigger suit actions. Those actions let you pull diamond crystals from the supply into your showroom, worth 1 point, or your vault, worth 2 points and safer to keep. Plays up to six, easy to follow if you know any trick-taker, and the extra layer gives every card a second job beyond just winning the trick.
