Pack your buildings into a medieval town, wall off the enemy and capture their pieces, Tetris-style.
Who it's for
You two want a compact head-to-head with no luck at all, something like a spatial cousin of Go or Blokus for pairs.
Not for you ifβ¦
You are more than two, or you want a theme that does more than decorate the pieces. This is a pure abstract duel.
Vibe's take
Calm on the surface, quietly aggressive underneath. Every placement is a small puzzle and a small threat at once, and the board gets tight faster than you expect.
Two players, one little medieval town, and a board that fills up faster than you think. Each of you owns a set of building-shaped pieces in your own color, from single-square huts up to five-square halls. A neutral cathedral goes down first, then you take turns squeezing your buildings onto the grid. Wall off a pocket that holds at most one enemy building (or the cathedral) and you capture it: the piece goes back to its owner, and that ground is yours alone. When nobody can place another piece, the player with the fewest unplaced square units wins. Think of it as Tetris with elbows, over in about twenty minutes. A 1979 classic that is sneakier than its calm look suggests.
