Play coloured cards to grab actions and build the tallest, gaudiest tower in the city.
Who it's for
Groups who want something with genuine tactical bite but do not want to spend twenty minutes on rules. Best with four players, where the action spaces get properly contested.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want deep long-term strategy or a theme that does more than decorate. Asara is essentially an abstract with towers glued on, and at two players the blocking largely disappears, which takes out much of the point.
Vibe's take
Tight and a bit mean, because the colour rule means someone can slam the door on your plan. Turns are quick, so the pressure never turns into waiting.
You are a wealthy builder in a fantasy city, racing to raise the tallest and most decorated towers. Over four years you play colour-coded cards to claim action spaces, buying tower segments, doors, windows and golden roofs. Each round ends with scoring for tower height and ornamentation, and the final year decides everything.
