Pull out the dowel the die names without making the whole wooden tower collapse.
Who it's for
You are playing with kids around six and up and want a light dexterity game that is over in ten minutes.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want strategy or a long game. It is pure steady hands and nerves, and one wobble can end it.
Vibe's take
Quiet, tense and tactile. Everyone leans closer as the tower gets shakier, and the collapse comes with a clatter and a laugh.
Twenty-seven wooden dowels in three colors and three thicknesses stand twisted together in a wooden ring, balanced on the table like a tiny tower of sticks. Roll the colored die, pull out the dowel it names, and score points for it β one to three, depending on color and thickness β while hoping the whole structure holds. Sooner or later it does not, and the player with the most points when it all collapses wins. It is a gentle dexterity game with a little risk-reward: do you go for the juicy thick dowel now, or leave it and let someone else sweat? Quick, tactile and good for small hands. Zitternix means roughly 'trembling for nothing', and that is exactly how it plays.
