Pick a Warcraft hero, join the Horde or the Alliance, and race to take down the Overlord.
Who it's for
You love Warcraft and want to bring the world to the table with friends, for an evening of heroic questing. Best if you have four players and time to spare.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want a short, tight game or have no interest in the setting. Three hours of dice and leveling is a commitment.
Vibe's take
Long, epic and very much an RPG on a table: you level up, gather gear and fight monsters, then the factions meet in a final showdown. Dice add risk, and cooperation inside your team matters.
World of Warcraft: The Boardgame turns the online game into a big table adventure for two to six. You choose one of sixteen characters, drawn from the eight races and nine classes of the Warcraft universe, from chivalrous paladins and holy priests to vile warlocks and crafty rogues. Then you set out across Lordaeron with your faction, the Horde or the Alliance, to vanquish monsters, gain experience and power, and earn honor. The two sides race each other as teams to defeat an invincible Overlord first. Expect dice, hand management and character powers, and a long evening of about three hours. It is aimed at players who already love the setting and enjoy leveling up, not at anyone looking for a quick game.
