Spell words to a category and pull letters across the street to your side.
Who it's for
Families with kids around eight and up who like word games and can play in teams. Great for mixed-age groups.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want a challenging word game for adults. The junior version is gentler, and the full alphabet makes words easy to find.
Vibe's take
Lively and chatty, with a tug-of-war on the board as both sides pull the same letters. Younger players feel clever when their word swings the street.
Word on the Street Junior is a word game where the playing field is a street and the letters are sitting on it. A card gives a category, you think of a word that fits, and every letter in your word moves a step toward your side of the street. Your opponents are pulling on the same letters toward theirs, so a sneaky word can drag useful letters out of their reach. Push eight letters off your end and you win. The junior edition uses the full alphabet and kinder categories, so younger players with a growing vocabulary can play alongside adults. Teams of two work well, and it is easy to adjust the pace for newer readers.
