Welcome to Everdell takes the beloved woodland city-builder and shrinks it down to something a six-year-old can actually finish in half an hour. You are still drafting critters and buildings, still watching a little animal village take shape in front of you, but the fiddly bits are gone and the charm is fully intact. It plays just as happily solo as with the whole family around the table, so it works as a genuine on-ramp rather than a watered-down copy.
