Who it's for

Groups who like clean auction games where money is genuinely scarce. Best at four, where bidding gets sharp.

Not for you if…

You want trains you actually route across a map. Nothing here is spatial, and the theme sits fairly loosely on the maths.

Vibe's take

Tight and pinched, because a hundred pounds vanishes faster than you expect and every auction is a judgement call.

About this game

A railway race up the length of Africa, decided almost entirely by how you spend a fixed pot of money. Every round a batch of terrain cards goes under the hammer, and you bid on what your train will have to cross next. Rough terrain needs more track than easy terrain, so a cheap card can turn into an expensive crossing.
