Hamburg warehouse auctions where meeple towers decide who pays what.
Who it's for
You enjoy auction games with a clever hook and want something around 45 minutes with real decisions. Good at four.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want lots of table talk or a heavy theme. The tension is mathematical, and the mechanism can feel fiddly at first.
Vibe's take
Tense in a quiet way. You watch each card, count your remaining bids and wince when someone slides a tower in at the last second.
Hamburg's warehouse district as a bidding game: you compete to win cards that give you contracts, ships, special buildings and more. The unusual part is how you bid. You stack your meeples in towers over a card, and each meeple you place raises the price for anyone who bids beneath you, but only for them. Timing is everything, because you only get three bids a round. Cards you win go into sets that score at the end, and events shake things up. It is a mid-weight auction game with a distinctive mechanism that creates a lot of little decisions about when to jump in and when to wait.
