Rebuild a medieval town district with workers, cards and three competing domains.
Who it's for
You enjoy Troyes-style optimizing and want something that plays in about an hour. A strong option as a two-player game.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want a light, relaxed city-builder. It is an efficiency puzzle with little room to coast.
Vibe's take
Tight and thinky: every worker placement makes something else more expensive. You are constantly nudging three domains forward with never enough hands.
Tournay is a medieval city-builder done as a card game, from the team behind Troyes. Two to four players rebuild a Belgian town after the Norman raids and run a district through three domains: military, religious and civil. Each round you place workers on cards, draft buildings, collect income and survive events, always balancing which domain to push. Prestige from buildings decides the winner. If you like Troyes but want something tighter that plays in an hour, this is a good pick, and it is especially sharp for two.
