A marble roulette wheel decides every leg of a round-the-world race, and a purple villain marble can steal the win.
Who it's for
You like a game where the fate of the race is a spinning wheel and some marbles, and you enjoy a little betting and a lot of table noise. Good for a nostalgic dig through old toy-box classics.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want tactics you can steer. Results hinge on where a marble lands, and that is not something you can plan around.
Vibe's take
Mostly luck, with just enough money-and-card decisions to feel like you had a say. The fun is the clatter of the wheel and the groans when Dastardly Dan drops in first.
A 1975 race around the world in which the vehicles are marbles. Before each mini race you spend play money on advantage cards, and then a spinning wheel with a single hole does the judging: the first marble to drop in wins, and its owner moves three pegs along the track from New York, around the globe, and back to New York. Different modes of travel get their own mini races, so your cards only pay off when the right one comes up. Lurking among the colors is Dastardly Dan, a purple marble that belongs to nobody, runs in every race, and can happily win the whole game. Think of the chaotic spirit of the old Wacky Races cartoon, with a roulette wheel for an engine.
