Roll the dice and fill your Burgundy estate, region by region, on a single sheet.
Who it's for
You love the original Castles of Burgundy or roll-and-write games and want a short version. Excellent as a solo or two-player game.
Not for you ifβ¦
You expect the full complexity of the board game or you dislike pen and paper. Interaction is low.
Vibe's take
Calm, clever and compact, a puzzle of making the best of two dice. The sheet fills up with satisfying patterns, and everyone is quietly doing the same maths.
The Castles of Burgundy: The Dice Game takes the beloved strategy classic and squeezes it into a roll-and-write. Five dice hit the table: a timer die, two number dice and two colour dice. One player rolls, then everyone chooses one colour die and one number die and combines them to fill hex spaces on their own sheet. The goal is the same as in the original: complete colour regions in your estate for points, and plan so that your picks work well together. It plays in about half an hour, with one to five players, and works well solo. A good fit for fans of the original who want something smaller and faster.
