Catan goes to space as a two-player card duel of exploring, trading, and shooting at pirates.
Who it's for
You and one other person enjoy Catan's trading flavor but want something compact with exploration and a bit of risk. A good pick for a couple that likes space themes.
Not for you ifβ¦
You play in groups of three or more, or you want the board-building and negotiation of the original Catan. This one is strictly for two and mostly a card duel.
Vibe's take
Exploring a deck feels like peering into fog: every card might be a gift or an ambush. You build up a ship that lets you look further, then decide how far to push your luck.
A two-player card game set in the Catan universe, with the same space-faring spirit as Starfarers of Catan but its own rules. You fly your ship through shuffled decks of cards, looking for planets to settle, trade deals worth taking, worlds in need of help, and pirates you either dodge or shoot. In between you upgrade your ship: weapons for the pirates, thrusters to go farther each turn, scanners to peek at cards before you hit them. Points come from colonies, built systems, and the friendship and hero tracks, and the first to ten wins. Think of Catan stripped down to a duel, where the dice and the deck decide how bold you can afford to be.
