A Sonic team race where every movement card is a choice between two runners.
Who it's for
You have kids from about 7 who love Sonic and want a racing game that is more than pure luck. Parents get a tactical puzzle they will not mind repeating.
Not for you ifβ¦
You do not care about the Sonic theme or want a deep strategy game. It is a light children's race with a license, and it stays that way.
Vibe's take
Quick, colorful and a little cheeky. You hold a few cards, juggle two pieces and grin when a rival lands on an obstacle you set up. Nothing is heavy, but the decisions are real enough that adults stay engaged.
A race across a track studded with obstacles and bonus spaces, where each player steers a duo of Sonic characters: Sonic and Tails, Amy and Knuckles, Shadow and Silver, or Metal Sonic and Rouge. You play movement cards to push your two runners toward the finish, and the clever part is parking rivals' runners on obstacle fields so they lose time. For two to four players, around 40 minutes, ages 7 and up. Kids who know the games will cheer for their favorites; adults get a small tactical puzzle in deciding which of the two runners deserves this card. It is a children's race with just enough mean streak to keep every turn interesting.
