Two-player card tug-of-war to lure the king and the Crown into your chateau.
Who it's for
You want a short, clever two-player card duel with a medieval courtly theme. Good for couples or quick evenings.
Not for you if…
You want more than two players or a long, deep strategy game.
Vibe's take
Snappy and tactical. Every card shoves the court a bit one way, and then your opponent shoves it back, so the tension swings back and forth. A tidy duel that fits in a lunch break.
Royal Visit is a quick two-player card duel about getting the king to your house. The board is split into two duchies, each with a chateau, and a little court of characters walks between them. On your turn you play a card to move people, or use the Wizard and the Jester to push the king and his court around. Then the Crown shifts depending on where the characters ended up. Whoever welcomes the king or the Crown into their chateau wins on the spot. If the king stays undecided, you want him standing in your duchy when the game ends. Think of a tug-of-war with cards, pleasantly mean and over in about half an hour.
