Grow, move, gather, and lead your tribe where the hexes are getting crowded.
Who it's for
You like civilization-style games but want them to wrap up in an hour. Good for three or four players who enjoy a bit of friendly pushing.
Not for you ifβ¦
You dislike dice swings or direct conflict. Rolls and fights drive a lot of the outcome.
Vibe's take
Brisk dice-driven civilization: you plan around a roll, adapt on the fly, and regularly squeeze past a rival with one more tribesman on a hex. A bit like a leaner Catan with fists.
Rise of Tribes sets you in prehistoric times with a fresh land of lakes, mountains, and forests, and a simple plan: grow your tribe and conquer. On your turn you roll two dice and pick two of four actions, GROW, MOVE, GATHER, or LEAD, and the strength of each depends on the dice and on what other players have recently placed there. Every hex has a population limit, so you decide how many tribe members to cram onto it to start a fight or sneak past one. It is a modular-board, dice-driven civilization game with area-majority bite that wraps up in about an hour.
